It's been a few months that I wasn't able to update my site. Sorry for those who have followed me and took some time reading my blogs. I am writing this to give some information and clarifications for Newbies most especially for new quick-taters and who is out in the blue trying to figure out how to earn online.
For NEWBIES:
I can help you by referral. You just need to give me your email add. All you have to do is sign in (oDesk, Freelance, Blogvertise, etc.). Make a very comprehensive, marketable resume in that way you may be able to compete amongst the thousands out there. Put in mind that this is a world wide competition. You are competing from among the best in the world. But who knows? He who is humble and persevering be able to land a job.
Familiarize yourself with the site. You need to read guidelines and how to's? Be sure that you do understand how to navigate through there site. Rules and regulation should be strictly followed in order for you to be an active member.
The next step is for you to apply for jobs that you think you are capable of doing. Please don't do task that you don't know because feedbacks are given by the end of of the task and it might demerit your skill.
Try to make a good cover letter. Be honest and be upfront to the employer. Remember some employers would give you tons of test, Skype interview or through email. They would test your capability before you get hired.
Be mindful of the amount you bid. Remember that you are paying for your internet connection, electricity, and time doing the task. Bid what you think is proper and you think that both parties gain.
The last thing is be thankful to whoever recommend or referred you. Who was able to give you the break as they said. In return you may be able to build relationships and probably do an alliance by giving information, leads, and links to earn harmoniously.
You don't need to compete with each other. Some can do more task than you because they have the capacity to do so. If you are earning in a decent way though you only have one task. Its much better than having none at all. Always stay humble and always put your shoes on there shoes so you may know the hardship that each party endures just to earn.
For Quicktate Newbies:
You can get hired by Quicktate directly by not going through oDesk. But for me it is a risk. The advantage of being hired in oDesk you are able to complain, hold on to something , give out a ticket, and get a secured payment.
Why oDesk not other online job site? Well, because its the only job site that Quicktate is a member of. You need to take the exam. In a couple of days waiting there is a good chance that you'll be hired because they need a lot of workforce right. Do email with regards to your experience. I'll be able to help you with that.
When you get hired, all you have to do is copy the Welcome letter sent by Quicktate and paste it as your cover letter in that way they know that you got hired. Email or give Julie a chat that you must be hired/to activate your job through oDesk. Check from time to time your oDesk message and if its being activated then you may now download the team room wherein you have to track your time every time you log in Quicktate.
Please, please read the Quicktate guidelines first before working on those voicemail accounts. Put it by heart and mind. You need to be prepared before going to the battle field. Remember there are days that are busy that your co-teammates won't be able to reply you back or worst being annoyed of you asking question. Some are irritated by the sound of the chat alert. As for me. I do answer and give info's but be patience cause I only answer when I am finished typing.
You don't need to be a fast typist. You need to be accurate. Speed goes along as you move from a couple of days to months. I have learned that many have been evicted from Quicktate because of accuracy. It's verbatim and it's in the guidelines not to alter anything even though you seemed its grammatically incorrect. I thank God becuase I've been around for eight months now. There are a few who are de-activated even in a few weeks.
Remember these files are real time so basically different versions of English language , ethnicity, and accents are involve. If you really don't understand you have the option to skip job. And if its a language that you can't understand. Don't type anything but submit a blank document. A few still do their own rules by typing; This language is not understood. Hello folks! Filipino's are not dumb.
Quicktaters are from all over the world. It is a California base company. So, please do your best to give an impression that we are capable of doing good transcripts as to those who are native tongues. By being good typist we are able to open doors for Pinoy's to type for them. Either they label you a trancriptionist or typist the name won't matter but please its not a data entry job so we're not data encoders. Right?
I have told a friend that I will research for the proper spelling of Quicktate's most frequently dictated companies, real estate brokerage firms, banks, names, and places. This has been long overdue. Honestly, I had a few list already but give me more time to be able to post it.
One more thing. There are audios that are automatically recorded. For you to be able to type it faster I would suggest to make a normal out of it wherein you only have to copy and paste and change a few details when you heard that recording again. You'll be able to get more job by doing this. They pay by word count so the more files the better.
How much can you earn? It greatly depends on you. The more time you log in. The more files you type. The bigger your earning. The pay that I get from it is a big help for my family. For I am able to bring food to the table, educate my child, and have a few pesos in my wallet. Set aside a few peso from your earning to be able to pamper yourself when you go old.
Hopefully my post does help and please leave a comment if you would want to. I'll be glad to get back to you as soon as possible. I will also be posting pretty soon how to get your earnings from online jobs.
