THE UPS AND DOWNS OF WORKING AT HOME

In every success story there is also a misfortune. I think not a misfortune but I will put it this way. The workload is not than overflowing as it was when I started. I started transcribing for Quicktate a year ago (October 2009). So, its my first years anniversary with them this month. The workload was undeniably overflowing that I could work for about 8 to 10 hours a day (US hours). Imagine I'm basically working on a night shift. Others would suspect that I'm working in a Call Center cause I am asleep all morning. My ever supportive husband does my task by looking after our daughter in school and preparing everything in the house.

I am earning as much as the Call Center Agents but my advantage was I am working at home. But for this past months (June to October 2010) things aren't the same. The volume of work is getting smaller and smaller and its so hard to stay up at night waiting for work. Basically my income with Quictate was slashed to half. It's quite disheartening but there's nothing I can do because I am just a freelancer working with them.

By why didn't I give up on them? It's because I still have high hopes that they will be able to survive the repression that has been happening in the US. I am still blessed that I am still able to get some work (contract) online that pays every time I deliver. If there's a will there's always a way. You just need to be focus on what you are good at and your worth will be given value by other online employers.

Constant prayer and believing in myself keeps me going. I always put in mind that I choose this line of work because I enjoy it, I am basically at home, and it does pay good dollars $$$$ if you have the perseverance to stay and eventually have a more stable full time, long term contract.

I think this will be my Christmas wish to be able to work with a work at home company who pays a fixed amount each month and long term contract. This I ask... Amen.
